Dave Ross has broadcast from Russia, China, Germany, Turkey, Jordan, Japan, and Argentina. In 1989 he covered the fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent revolution in Czechoslovakia. In 1991 he covered the end of the Communist Party in Moscow, and returned a year later. In 1992 he broadcast from Los Angeles in the aftermath of the Rodney King riots. In September 2001 and again in 2002 he covered New York's recovery from the 9/11 attacks, and during Colin Powell's visit in April 2002 he broadcast The Dave Ross Show live from Jerusalem, including interviews recorded on the West Bank. In 1992, Dave was named as Charles Osgood's substitute on The Osgood File, and in 1993, he began his own daily CBS commentary which is now carried by 240 stations. TV appearances include interviews on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, CNBC; he was also a member of the original cast of CNET Central on the USA Network. National recognition includes the Edward R. Murrow Award for commentary, and a 2002 Marconi nomination.
