WHAT IS IT?
It is a multi-sectoral coalition launched on 15 May 1999 in during the Hague Appeal for Peace conference. Hundreds of national and international organizations and individuals from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas have already joined. WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE WORLD DEMOCRACY CAMPAIGN?
Its goals is to generate a global public debate and find a general consensus about.
HOW DO WE PEACEFULLY CREATE A WORLD DEMOCRACY IN OUR LIFETIME?
by promoting an extensive global dialogue among people, nonprofits, business and government about how we - as a global society and a global community- peacefully manage global issues.

WHY IS SUCH A COALITION NEEDED?
There is no other coalition specifically focusing on world democracy. All other issues-based coalitions, whether they concern peace, environment... will only be ultimately successful if there is a World Democracy where the people of the world can express their voices directly, rather than relying exclusively on a system where diplomats negotiate treaties. The challenge is HOW to invent democracy at the world level ? All countries will benefit from a World Democracy by seeing their security enhanced and by creating a real peace dividend. The global coalition creates bridges and a basis for dialogue between civil society, and the public and private sectors.
HOW DO I JOIN?
The only thing to do is to endorse and sign the Common Statement on World Democracy (exists in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian and Portuguese). Please share it with your friends, acquaintances.
